2017 Convention Wrap-Up

Sandra Mullins, of Bennettsville, SC has been elected to serve the ACSP as President for 2017 - 2018. Mullins was elected on April 3, 2017 during the ACSP Annual Meeting held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

At the 2017 Awards Reception on Sunday, April 3rd more outstanding Association members were also recognized - including the Board of Directors for their service over the past year.

The Outstanding Educator of the Year Award gives consideration to nominees based on their accomplishments dealing with education on any level such as for ACSP, the cosmetology industry and any education dealing with cosmetology related events. The 2017 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award recipient is Echo Morris of Rembert, SC.

The David E. Bagwell Award (Professional Member of the Year) recognizes cosmetologists on what they have done to upgrade and promote the cosmetology profession by activities supported on the state and local level. The 2017 David E. Bagwell Award recipient is Debbie Stabler of Swansea, SC.

Congratulations to all our amazing members who recieved awards this year!

The 2015 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award recipient is Sandra Mullins of Bluffton, SC.

The David E. Bagwell Award (Professional Member of the Year) recognizes cosmetologists on what they have done to upgrade and promote the cosmetology profession by activities supported on the state and local level. The 2015 David E. Bagwell Award recipient is Alma Owens of Georgetown, SC.

Brad Ballington was also inducted into the ACSP Hall of Fame. Brad has been active in ACSP’s leadership both on a local and state level, he has taught many Continuing Education Classes, orchestrated a Continuing Education Class Cruise and served on multiple Extravaganza teams and won ACSP’s Outstanding Educator of the Year award in 2002. Brad became a member of HairAmerica, serving on several NCA Design Teams as a designer, teaching classes at the Midwest Beauty Show and HairWorld 2002 in Las Vegas and has and has served on numerous ACSP Design Teams as designer. He is now active in Beaufort’s art community by volunteering for the theater at the University of South Carolina and fundraising for various community art programs helping to raise awareness of the value of our profession.

Louise Frick was awarded ACSP Lifetime Membership. Louise Frick has been a licensed professional since 1960 and has been a member of this Association since 1961. Her service to the membership has been outstanding by serving in all positions of the Columbia affiliate Board of Directors including President and being voted Affiliate President of the Year. She has also served the members as Financial Secretary for this association and has won numerous State and National competitions Louise has been inducted into the South Carolina Cosmetology Hall of Fame and has been a long-standing and faithful member of ACSP Education Committee.

Mary Simpson was awarded the Contact Person of the Year Award for her hard work at our Continuing Education classes in Greenville SC. Louise Frick was honored with a Lifetime Membership to ACSP. Congratulations to all our amazing members who recieved awards this year!

The David E. Bagwell Award (Professional Member of the Year) recognizes cosmetologists on what they have done to upgrade and promote the cosmetology profession by activities supported on the state and local level. The 2014 David E. Bagwell Award recipient is Cynthia Duke of Conway, SC.

Echo Morris was also inducted into the ACSP Hall of Fame. Echo has been an active member of ACSP for over 24 years, She has won the ACSP Affiliate President of the Year, twice winning the Educator of the Year and winning the prestigious David E. Bagwell Award.   Echo has served as a member of the Education Committee in the Nails division and has distinguished herself by standing her Nail Examination for the NCA Americas and becoming an educator for the national association. In addition, Echo has served this association twice as the Nail Designer for the ACSP Design Team. Echo was also appointed by Governor of the State of South Carolina to serve on the State Board of Cosmetology, a position she held for four years. Her dedication to the industry and to ACSP is substantial and we are so proud to induct her into the ACSP Hall of Fame!

The 9th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards were voted on by the Education Committee members to recognize their peers for outstanding service. The Blue Ribbon winners for 2014 are:

ACSP 2012 Convention Wrap Up

Doug Robinson, of Rock Hill, SC has been re-elected to serve the ACSP as President for 2012 - 2013. Robinson was elected on April 23, 2012 during the ACSP State Convention held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

At the 2012 Awards Reception on Friday, April 20 more outstanding Association members were also recognized - including the Board of Directors and Affiliate Presidents for their service over the past year.

The Affiliate President of the Year Award is based on an affiliate President's accomplishments in membership, certifications, attendance at meetings, report submission and other criteria. The 2012 Affiliate President of the Year recipient is Cynthia Duke, Affiliate #28 in Conway, SC.

The Outstanding Educator of the Year Award gives consideration to nominees based on their accomplishments dealing with education on any level such as for ACSP, the cosmetology industry and any education dealing with cosmetology related events. The 2012 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award recipient is Kimberly King-Mahaffey of Greer, SC.

The David E. Bagwell Award (Professional Member of the Year) recognizes cosmetologists on what they have done to upgrade and promote the cosmetology profession by activities supported on the state and local level. The 2012 David E. Bagwell Award recipient is Marci Curtin of West Seneca, NY.

The 7th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards were voted on by the FEC members to recognize their peers for outstanding service. The Blue Ribbon winners for 2012 are:
