CEU Processing Details

After you complete a class your CEU hours are sent to USC for processing.  USC only allows ACSP (and other online course providers) to submit online course completions once a week and we submit your hours to them each Monday for anything completed the previous week.  During non-renewal times where timing is not as crucial we may submit to USC every two weeks (every other Monday). Upon receipt, USC has up to 5 business days to process your hours.  USC will then mail a certificate out to you at whatever address you put on your VOA or included during your online course registration.  After processing, USC exports your hours directly to LLR. We generally suggest giving it 3 weeks from the completion of your class to see your hours on the LLR website.

If your hours aren't showing at LLR and you have already received your certificate in the mail it is possible they didn't upload correctly from USC to LLR.  This is why it is so important to hang on to that certificate you get in the mail.  You can send in that certificate to LLR as proof of course completion if needed. 

During renewal times (Spring 2025 is the next renewal) you should take your class early. But, if you have waited until you are within a couple weeks of the renewal deadline you may need to do a mail in renewal because your hours likely won't post to LLR in time for an online renewal.  Include a note with the renewal on the date your online course was completed and LLR will watch for that class to hit their system from USC and send out your new license once that happens.  The only "certificate" accepted by LLR is the one from USC.  Certificates from CEU providers like ACSP are not valid therefore we can't provide that to you.  They will not renew your license without the verification from USC.  Be sure to send your renewal so it is postmarked by the deadline!   If your hours aren't showing at LLR but you DO have a copy of your certificate then you can upload a copy of your certificate to LLR or mail a copy with your paper renewal application.    Contact the SC Board of Cosmetology if needed.

We can confirm when your hours were sent to USC and we can sometimes let you know if USC has processed your hours, Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the system where USC transmits your hours to LLR so ACSP can’t see where things are in the process or what has happened.
